Ashley's Trips

This blog initially began as a way for me to share my backpacking adventures through Europe with my friends and family back home. It continues to document my new adventures even though I have returned...

Luxemburg

Marianne and I are in Luxemburg. It is a little gem in Europe. Neither of us knew very much about the country prior to arrival and we both think that this place is a little under-rated. It is quaint, straddles a gorge and is completely surrounded by a wall. We are really only here for one complete day (we got in last night and are leaving tomorrow morning) but the stopover was well worth it. Unfortunately, some of the touristy things are closed because of the season but for the most part there has been much to see as well as a christmas market set up in the city center. And we both love the christmas markets we have found. Technically we are more or less eating and drinking our way through them but they are so cute and really who can resist mulled wine and a sauerkraut covered sausage on a roll?
